(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - According to the cultural deputy of the Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization, as many as 1300 Quranic sessions were held by the Iranian delegation sent to Hajj last year. Hojat-ol-Islam Sharafkhani said this year, too, a 32-strong delegation will be sent to Hajj, the organization’s public relations and international affairs office reported. Hojat-ol-Islam Sharafkhani added that the delegation, made up of 32 Quran reciters and memorizers, will perform Quranic programs in the holy cities of Makkah and Medina. “They have been selected from among 200 Quran reciters and memorizers who had the best performance in provincial Quran competitions,” he stated. The cultural deputy of the Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization noted that two Tawasheeh (religious songs) groups would accompany the Quran reciters and memorizers. The delegation will attend a two-day course at the organization’s conferences hall before going to Hajj.
